A vehicle struck a person walking in the area of 1198 Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, according to the Boston Police Department.

The vehicle's driver stayed on the scene after hitting the pedestrian.

Full notifications were requested for the victim, who was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made as of Friday morning,

The Boston Police Department, Homicide Unit, and Fatal Collision Team responded.

The incident remains under investigation.
